How to Build Up The Number of Push Ups You Can Do, By The 4 D Trainer in Richmond
Push ups are a great functional way to increase your upper body strength.
See how many push ups you can perform in one go and make a note. If you struggle with full push ups you can do them on your knees in the half push up position.
Try this winning formula to build up your repetitions.
Perform one push up and rest for 5 seconds, perform two push ups and rest for 5 seconds, perform three push ups and rest for 5 seconds…and so on. Follow this pattern until you can no longer hit the amount of repetitions you are on with good form.
We recommend doing this once to twice a week and noting the amount of repetitions you get up to.
10 is a good score. Bare in mind that is 55 in total!
